State Budget Proposals Place Critical Hospital Services in Jeopardy

The Pennsylvania state budget faces a more than $3 billion shortfall by June 30 of this year and many programs and services are being cut in both the Governor’s proposed budget and the Senate budget plan.

Hospitals face the loss of special Medicaid funds for trauma centers, burn centers, rural hospital services, medical and health professional education, obstetrics and neonatal care services, and hospital services for low-income adults who are not eligible for Medicaid or other health insurance programs. Losing these dollars will have a devastating impact on the health care delivery system in Pennsylvania.

Tell lawmakers and the governor to stop the cuts and to protect Pennsylvania’s hospitals. Please send an email and sign the petition by July 3.
